STYLE MR – WINDING FILLER RING
Style MR spiral gaskets feature only windings and fillers, without inner or outer rings. They are available in various sizes and thicknesses.
Style MR gaskets can be customized to meet the following requirements –
A. Large tongue and groove joints, 1/2 to 24 NPS,
B. Small tongue and groove joints, 1/2 to 24 NPS, and, C. Large male and female joints 1/4 to 24 NPS.
STYLE MO – OUTER RING
Style MO gaskets feature a solid metal outer guide ring (OR). This guide ring helps centre the gasket correctly within the flange during installation. It also prevents the gasket from unwinding, provides radial support for the spiral wound element, and protects the spiral wound from excessive compression during installation. While the outer ring is typically made of carbon steel with an epoxy coating, it can be supplied in other metals to suit different applications.
STYLE MIO – INNER & OUTER RING
Style MIO gaskets are like Style MO, with the addition of an inner ring (IR). The IR provides radial support for the spiral wound gasket on the inner diameter, helping to prevent inward or outward buckling. It also acts as an additional compression stop. The inner ring is slightly oversized compared to the flange bore ID to minimize interference with internal flow. Typically, the inner rings are made from the same material as the rest of the spiral wound component. Khong Lieng manufactures both standard Style MI and MIO spiral wound gaskets to ASME B16.20, tailored to fit ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47, and other applicable flanges based on our local production capabilities.
STYLE MI – INNER RING
The Inner Ring (IR) prevents unwinding from the gaskets and provides radial support for the spiral wound, and it also protects the spiral wound from over compression during installation. IR can be supplied in other metals for different applications.
